Welcome to Mystery Game Central
As this is the very first post on the Mystery Game News blog, this is probably a good time to talk a little bit about what this site is about, and what I hope to accomplish with this site.
My name is Randy, and while I can’t claim, by any means, to be an expert on the topic, I am someone who has enjoyed mystery games (and mystery literature) for many years. In the past, as I’ve searched for information on various games, I’ve been frustrated that there was no single site I could go to that provided a comprehensive resource for these types of games.
Sure, there were publisher sites that covered the games from a particular company, and plenty of sites about mystery books, and even a few sites that focused on a small subset of games (usually mystery party games).
But I didn’t find a single site that covered the whole universe of mystery games – board games, party games, games you can play from your computer, jigsaw puzzles – so I decided that one site that covered everything related to mystery games would be a useful resource.
That’s what Mystery Game Central aims to be – the world’s most comprehensive resource for mystery game enthusiasts.
Time will tell whether or not this site lives up to that goal. Right now, I feel like I’ve made a good start. There’s work yet to do, but I think it’s heading in the right direction. Wish me luck.
If you have any opinions on where this site should head, or suggestions on what material it should cover, please let me know.
